Person
Rajyapala
Rajyapala was a ruler of the Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty at Kannauj in the early eleventh century, when the empire had shrunk to a small kingdom. When Mahmud of Ghazni marched on Kannauj in December 1018, Rajyapala abandoned the city without a fight, and it was plundered. For this submission a coalition of Rajput rulers led by the Chandela king Vidyadhara attacked and killed him soon afterwards.
