Rethra
Rethra was the chief temple-fortress of the Lutici, a West Slavic federation between the Elbe and the Oder, in the land of the Redarii. Thietmar of Merseburg and Adam of Bremen describe its wooden temple, idols and an oracle using a sacred horse. Bishop Burchard II of Halberstadt destroyed it in 1068, and its exact site, somewhere near the Tollensesee or Lake Lieps in Mecklenburg, has never been found.
