Revolution of the Park

1890 · 19th century · Also known as Revolución del Parque

The Revolution of the Park was an armed uprising in Buenos Aires in July 1890 by the Civic Union, led by Leandro Alem, against President Miguel Juárez Celman, named after the artillery park where the rebels gathered. It was defeated within days, but it forced Juárez Celman to resign and led to the founding of the Radical Civic Union.
