Rim-Sin I
Rim-Sin I was a long-reigning king of Larsa in southern Mesopotamia and one of the most powerful rulers of the region in the early second millennium BCE. A contemporary letter quoted in accounts of the Babylonian Empire name him alongside Hammurabi as one of several kings of comparable strength. Hammurabi eventually defeated Larsa, removing Rim-Sin I and bringing the south under Babylonian control.
