Rim-Sin II

Rim-Sin II was a pretender who led a widespread rebellion of southern Mesopotamian cities against Babylon shortly after the death of Hammurabi. According to the Babylonian Empire profile, the revolt spread across 26 southern cities and was crushed by Hammurabi's son Samsu-iluna. The victory came at great cost, as the walls of Ur, Uruk and Isin were pulled down and these cities ceased to function as administrative centres.
