Rock of Cashel

Also known as Cashel of the Kings

The Rock of Cashel is a limestone outcrop in County Tipperary, Ireland, that was the seat of the kings of Munster from about the 4th century. In 1101 King Muirchertach Ua Briain gave it to the Church. Its buildings include Cormac's Chapel, a Romanesque church consecrated in 1134, a round tower and a 13th-century cathedral.
