Royal Hungarian Honvéd
The Royal Hungarian Honvéd was the territorial army of the Kingdom of Hungary within Austria-Hungary, created in 1868 after the Compromise of 1867, with Hungarian as its language of command. Its name recalled the Hungarian revolutionary army of 1848–1849. Like the Austrian Landwehr it grew into a front-line force and fought throughout the First World War.
