Ruijin is a county-level city in the hills of southern Jiangxi province, China, near the border with Fujian. In November 1931 a national congress of Chinese soviets there proclaimed the Chinese Soviet Republic, and Ruijin served as its capital, known as the "Red Capital", until the Red Army abandoned it at the start of the Long March in October 1934.
