Šabac
Šabac is a city in western Serbia on the Sava river. Its fortress was built by the Ottomans in 1471, taken by Matthias Corvinus in 1476 and held by Hungary as part of its southern defences until Suleiman the Magnificent captured it, together with Belgrade, in 1521. In 1806 the nearby Battle of Mišar was an early Serbian victory over the Ottomans in the First Serbian Uprising.
