Sabha
Sabha is the largest city of the Fezzan region in south-western Libya, an oasis town on the old caravan routes across the Sahara. Under Italian rule it was a military post, and after the Second World War it served as the centre of the French-administered territory of Fezzan. In the independent Kingdom of Libya it was the capital of Fezzan province, and Muammar Gaddafi went to school there.
