Sambor Prei Kuk

7th century · 7th century · Also known as Isanapura

Sambor Prei Kuk is an archaeological site in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, identified with Isanapura, capital of the Chenla kingdom under King Isanavarman I in the 7th century. It contains over a hundred brick temples, many octagonal, decorated with carved lintels and reliefs. Their style prefigures the art of Angkor, and the site was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2017.
