Sasak people

Also known as Sasak

The Sasak are the indigenous people of the island of Lombok in Indonesia, speaking an Austronesian language related to Balinese. Most are Muslim, and some, the Wetu Telu, combine Islam with older customs. In the 18th and 19th centuries Balinese princes ruled Lombok, and a Sasak revolt in 1891 led to the Dutch intervention and conquest of the island in 1894.
