Sasamón
Sasamón is a village in the province of Burgos in northern Spain, on the site of the ancient town of Segisamo, the main settlement of the Turmodigi. In 26 BCE the emperor Augustus made it his base for the war against the Cantabri, and it later became a Roman town on the road to Asturica Augusta. Roman remains and the large Gothic church of Santa María la Real survive there.
