Pisuerga

Also known as Pisuerga River

The Pisuerga is a river of northern Spain, a major tributary of the Duero. It rises in the Cantabrian Mountains in the north of Palencia province, flows south across the plateau of Old Castile and through the city of Valladolid, and joins the Duero below it. In the early Middle Ages its valley formed part of the frontier zone where the first counts of Castile resettled the land.
