Sebastián Kindelán
Sebastián Kindelán was a Spanish army officer of Irish descent who served as governor of East Florida and later as captain general of Santo Domingo from 1818 to 1821. His rule fell in the period known as España Boba, when Spain neglected the impoverished colony. He suppressed conspiracies against Spanish rule, but shortly after his term the colony declared independence and was occupied by Haiti.
