Sendai Castle
Sendai Castle, also called Aoba Castle, was built from 1601 by Date Masamune on Mount Aoba above the city of Sendai in north-eastern Japan. It remained the seat of the Date lords of the Sendai Domain until 1871. Few original structures survive, but its walls and a statue of Masamune mark the site.
