Senebkay

r. c. 1650 BCE · 17th century BCE

Senebkay was an Egyptian king of the Second Intermediate Period, probably of the Abydos Dynasty, who reigned around 1650 BCE. His tomb was found at South Abydos in 2014 by a University of Pennsylvania team. It was small and partly built from reused blocks, and his skeleton bears many wounds suggesting that he died in battle. His name was previously unknown.
