Turin King List

13th century BCE · 13th century BCE · Also known as Turin Royal Canon

The Turin King List, or Turin Royal Canon, is an Egyptian papyrus written in hieratic in the reign of Ramesses II and now in the Museo Egizio in Turin. It lists gods and kings of Egypt with their reign lengths, including many minor rulers of the Second Intermediate Period omitted from other lists. Badly fragmented, it has been reconstructed by modern scholars, notably Kim Ryholt, whose work identified the Sixteenth and Abydos dynasties.
