Sittanavasal
Sittanavasal is a village in Pudukkottai district, Tamil Nadu, India, known for its rock-cut Jain cave temple, the Arivar Koil. The cave holds some of the finest surviving early Indian murals, painted in the 9th century under the Pandyas, showing a lotus pond with fish, birds, animals and figures. Nearby are Jain stone beds with Tamil-Brahmi inscriptions from the early centuries BCE.
