Solidarity Forever
Ralph Chaplin began writing "Solidarity Forever" in 1913, while he was reporting on the Paint Creek–Cabin Creek strike of 1912 in Kanawha County, West Virginia. He was moved by the resolve and high spirits of the striking miners and their families, who had lived in tents for a year through a violent strike in which about 50 people were killed on both sides.
