Soni Shah
Soni Shah was a Ponwar Rajput who had served the Bundela rulers of Bundelkhand. Around 1785 he seized Chhatarpur from the descendants of Maharaja Chhatrasal and founded his own state there. The British later confirmed his family in possession, and his descendants ruled Chhatarpur as a princely state until 1948.
