Bundelkhand
Bundelkhand is a hilly region of central India, between the Ganges plain and the Vindhya range. In the eighteenth century, Maratha armies under Peshwa Baji Rao I extended their power into Bundelkhand, along with Malwa and Gujarat. Its control was part of the Maratha Empire's northward expansion at the expense of the Mughals.
