A small Bundela principality of the Bundelkhand Agency, one of several minor holdings created from the lands of Chhatrasal's descendants.

Origins

Jaso was founded in the 18th century by a branch of the Bundela Rajputs who descended from Chhatrasal of Panna. Its chief received a British sanad in the early 19th century.

Little is recorded about the state beyond its listing as a minor, non-salute state of the Bundelkhand Agency covering a small group of villages.

Decline and legacy

After independence Jaso was merged into Vindhya Pradesh with the other Bundelkhand states, and its former territory lies in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh.
