Spandau
Spandau is a district of Berlin, Germany, at the confluence of the Havel and the Spree. A town first recorded in 1197, with a castle of the margraves of Brandenburg, it was where Elector Joachim II took communion in both kinds in 1539, marking Brandenburg's adoption of the Reformation. Its 16th-century citadel survives, and its prison held Nazi war criminals sentenced at Nuremberg.
