St George's Cathedral, Yuryev-Polsky
St George's Cathedral in Yuryev-Polsky, Russia, was built between 1230 and 1234 by Prince Sviatoslav Vsevolodovich, the last great white-stone church of Vladimir-Suzdal before the Mongol invasion. Its walls were covered with carved reliefs of saints, beasts and plants. After a partial collapse it was rebuilt in 1471, when many carvings were reset out of order.
