Stäfa

Also known as Stafa

Stäfa is a municipality on the north-eastern shore of Lake Zürich in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland. In the eighteenth century it was a prosperous village of vine-growers and textile workers, and in 1794–1795 it was the centre of the Stäfa affair, when its petition for rural rights was answered with military occupation and harsh sentences.
