Tacna
Tacna is a city in the far south of Peru, near the Chilean border. Occupied by Chile during the War of the Pacific in 1880, it remained under Chilean administration for nearly fifty years because the plebiscite promised by the Treaty of Ancón was never held. The Treaty of Lima of 1929 returned Tacna to Peru, while Arica remained Chilean.
