Tagalog language
Tagalog is an Austronesian language of the central Philippines, spoken natively around Manila and in southern Luzon. It was the language of the Katipunan and the revolution of 1896. In 1937 the Commonwealth of the Philippines chose it as the basis of the national language, and in standardised form, called Filipino, it is now an official language alongside English.
