Tel River
The Tel is a river of western Odisha in eastern India and one of the main southern tributaries of the Mahanadi. Its basin covers much of the Kalahandi and Balangir districts, and it joins the Mahanadi at Sonepur, a temple town that grew up at the confluence. The fertile valley supported early settlement and later the small Chauhan princely states of the region.
