T'ho
T'ho, also called Ichcaansihó, was a Maya city in north-western Yucatán whose ruins of large platforms and pyramids stood on the site of modern Mérida. Francisco de Montejo the Younger founded Mérida there in 1542, using its dressed stones for the cathedral and other Spanish buildings. The name T'ho is still used for the city in Yucatec Maya.
