Tinos
Tinos is an island of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea, Greece. Taken around 1207 by the Venetian Ghisi family and ruled directly by Venice from 1390, it held out longer than any other Venetian possession in the Aegean, until the Ottomans took it in 1715. Its Church of Panagia Evangelistria is the most important Orthodox pilgrimage shrine in Greece.
