Tioman Island

Tioman Island is a mountainous island in the South China Sea off the east coast of Pahang, Malaysia. Its fresh water and sheltered anchorages made it a landmark and watering stop for ships sailing between China and the Strait of Malacca for many centuries. The French adventurer Mayrena, self-proclaimed king of the Sedang, died there in 1890.
