Torarica
Torarica was the capital of the English colony of Willoughbyland on the Suriname River, a small town of planters founded in the 1650s. After the Dutch conquest of 1667 the seat of government moved to Paramaribo, nearer the coast, and Torarica declined. It was later abandoned, and little trace of it remains.
