Treaty of Pressburg (1491)

1491 · 15th century · Also known as Peace of Pressburg (1491)

The Treaty of Pressburg was signed on 7 November 1491 between Vladislaus II of Hungary and Bohemia and Emperor Frederick III and his son Maximilian. It ended Maximilian's war for the Hungarian throne after the death of Matthias Corvinus and provided that the Habsburgs would inherit Hungary if Vladislaus's line failed, as happened in 1526.
