Vladislaus II of Hungary

1456–1516 · 15th century · Also known as Ladislaus II of Hungary

Vladislaus II of Hungary, of the Jagiellonian dynasty, was elected King of Bohemia in 1471 and King of Hungary in 1490. Weak in both kingdoms, he left power to the estates and magnates, and the Vladislav Land Ordinance of 1500 confirmed noble dominance in Bohemia. The double marriage agreement he made with the Habsburgs in 1515 prepared their later succession to both crowns.
