Vani
Vani is a town in western Georgia and the site of an important ancient settlement of Colchis, on a hill above the Sulori river. Excavations since the 1940s have uncovered temples, walls and rich burials of the 5th and 4th centuries BCE with fine gold jewellery, bronze sculpture and imported Greek goods, showing the wealth of the Colchian elite.
