Vedeno

Vedeno is a village in the mountains of south-eastern Chechnya, Russia. It became the capital of Imam Shamil's Caucasian Imamate after the loss of Dargo and was taken by Russian forces in April 1859. In 1919–1920 it was again the seat of an Islamic state, the North Caucasian Emirate of Sheikh Uzun-Haji.
