Medina

Medina is a city in the Hejaz region of Arabia, the second holiest city of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad migrated there in 622 and established the first Muslim community. It was the capital of the Rashidun Caliphate until Ali moved his seat to Kufa, and later rulers including the Ottomans claimed its protection.
