Vereya
Vereya is a small town in Moscow Oblast, Russia, on the Protva river south-west of Moscow. First mentioned in the 14th century, it was an appanage of the Moscow princes under Andrei of Mozhaysk and his son Mikhail until it was absorbed by Moscow in 1486. In 1812 Russian troops stormed it from the French, and their commander, General Ivan Dorokhov, is buried there.
