Vic

Also known as Vicus Ausonensis, Vich

Vic is a city in central Catalonia, north-eastern Spain, and the capital of the comarca of Osona. It began as Ausa, chief town of the Iberian Ausetani, and keeps a Roman temple uncovered in 1882. Resettled under Count Wilfred the Hairy in the 880s as Vicus Ausonensis, it became an episcopal see and gave its name to the county of Osona.
