Vibo Valentia
Vibo Valentia is a town in Calabria, southern Italy, on the site of Hipponion, a Greek colony founded by Locri Epizephyrii in the 7th century BCE. After a period under the Bruttians, it became the Latin colony of Vibo Valentia in 192 BCE and served as a port on the Tyrrhenian coast. Stretches of its Greek walls survive, and an Orphic gold tablet found there is among the oldest of its kind.
