Volodymyr Olgerdovich

d. c. 1398 · 14th century · Also known as Vladimir Olgerdovich

Volodymyr Olgerdovich was a son of Grand Duke Algirdas of Lithuania who ruled the Principality of Kiev as a Lithuanian prince from about 1362 to 1394. He minted his own coins and kept considerable independence until Vytautas removed him in 1395 and gave him Slutsk and Kapyl in compensation. His descendants, the Olelkovich princes, later held Kiev again and ruled Slutsk.
