War of the Remences
The War of the Remences was a series of peasant risings in fifteenth-century Catalonia by the remences, serfs who owed payments to redeem themselves from their lords. They fought alongside John II during the Catalan Civil War and rose again in 1484 under Pere Joan Sala. Ferdinand II settled the conflict with the Sentence of Guadalupe in 1486, which abolished the worst feudal abuses against payment.
