Person
William Clito
William Clito was the son of Robert Curthose, duke of Normandy, and a claimant to Normandy against his uncle Henry I of England. After the murder of Charles the Good in 1127, King Louis VI of France imposed him as count of Flanders, but his demands soon turned the towns against him and they backed Thierry of Alsace. He died of a wound at the siege of Aalst in 1128.
