William II, Duke of Apulia
William II, Duke of Apulia, was the grandson of Robert Guiscard and ruled the Norman duchy of Apulia and Calabria from 1111. His reign was weakened by rebellious barons and he depended on his cousin Roger II of Sicily. When he died childless in 1127, Roger claimed the duchy and soon united the Norman south into the Kingdom of Sicily.
