Winwaloe

Also known as Saint Guénolé

Winwaloe, known in Breton and French as Guénolé, was a Breton saint of the late 5th and early 6th centuries and the founder and first abbot of Landévennec on the Crozon peninsula. A disciple of Saint Budoc, he was revered as one of the founders of Christian Brittany, and his cult spread to Cornwall, where churches such as Gunwalloe bear his name.
