Wiskiauten

Also known as Mokhovoye

Wiskiauten, now Mokhovoye in Russia's Kaliningrad region, is an archaeological site on the Sambian peninsula near the Curonian Lagoon. Its burial ground of several hundred mounds held Scandinavian-style graves of the 9th to 11th centuries, showing that Scandinavian traders settled among the Prussian Sambians. Recent research has also located the associated trading settlement.
