Viking Age
The Viking Age is the period from the late 8th to the mid 11th century in which Scandinavians raided, traded and settled across Europe and the North Atlantic. Its beginning is usually dated to the raid on Lindisfarne in 793 and its end to 1066. In Scandinavia itself it saw the growth of trading towns, the first kingdoms of Norway, Denmark and Sweden, and conversion to Christianity.
