Worcestershire
Worcestershire is a county in the West Midlands of England, with its county town at Worcester on the River Severn. The salt springs of Droitwich made it important from prehistoric times, and it formed the core of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of the Hwicce, whose bishopric at Worcester was founded around 680. The Battle of Worcester of 1651 ended the English Civil War.
