Wu Taibo

Taibo was, in Chinese tradition, the eldest son of the Zhou chieftain Gugong Danfu and an uncle of King Wen of Zhou. With his brother Zhongyong he withdrew to the lower Yangtze so that their younger brother Jili and his son could inherit, adopted local customs and founded the State of Wu. Confucius praised him for his supreme virtue in giving up the throne.
